Apple Quicktime
Quicktime for Windows must be installed before Unity can be used. Any machine running iTunes for Windows will already have Quicktime installed. If you launch the software on a Windows machine that does not have Quicktime installed, the software will bring this to your attention and direct you to Apple’s website where Quicktime can be downloaded:

Web Cams
Many Windows based webcams come with installation software that puts some sort of webcam program on your computer. This software will often launch every time you plug in your camera. When this software is running, no other application can use the webcam, including Unity. If you run Unity while such a program is operating, your video in Unity when choosing this video device will appear black. Your choices are:
-
1)Don’t install this software unless absolutely necessary (many USB cameras will work without any software installation
-
2)Always make sure you quit the webcam software manually before running Unity
-
3)Or go to the Add/Remove Applications control panel in Windows and remove the webcam software from your computer so that this conflict no longer occurs
